FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department are reporting several calls this morning of a new (to our area) scam. This scam involves someone calling and saying that they are with FedEx or UPS and that you have a prize delivery of a large sum of cash or large ticket item (car, TV, etc.) The first caller will attempt to schedule a time for delivery. A second caller will then contact you and advise that they are with the IRS and need to collect the tax you owe on your prize. This is a scam. Please do not give out your personal information or bank/credit info to anyone.
