Congressman Robert Aderholt – Alabama District 4
Much sought after assignment important to Redstone Arsenal and Alabama defense

Hal Rogers
(R)WASHINGTON, D.C. – Good news came to Congressman Robert Aderholt earlier today as Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee Hal Rogers announced his appointment to the much sought after Defense Subcommittee. The subcommittee is currently chaired by Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen of New Jersey.
“Given the history of working with Redstone Arsenal over the years I have seen first hand the important role northern Alabama and the entire state plays in our national defense, particularly as it relates to missile defense,” said Robert Aderholt. “This is particularly important as the Department of Defense continues to transition to meet new threats.”
“The Defense Subcommittee is ably led by Chairman Frelinghuysen and I look forward to working with him as the appropriations committee continues to shape defense priorities.”
“I am delighted to welcome Robert Aderholt to the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee,” said Chairman Frelinghuysen. “His
experience, intellect and command of the issues will add immeasurably to the strong team of members already on the Subcommittee.”

Congressman Aderholt is serving in his ninth term representing Alabama’s Fourth Congressional District. He continues to serve as the Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture in addition to this assignment.
“Robert and I have worked together on a range of issues and I am confident that he is ready to help us ensure that our men and women in uniform, and their families, have everything they need,” Frelinghuysen said. “As he is a strong believer in fiscal responsibility, I look forward to working with him on the Subcommittee to improve military readiness and by making every dollar of defense spending count.”
This subcommittee set annual appropriations levels and has federal spending oversight for the Departments of Army, Navy (including Marines), Air Force and Marines as well as the Central Intelligence Agency and Intelligence Community Staff.
