TENNESSEE VALLEY-Due to the bitterly cold temperatures expected in the Tennessee Valley over the next couple of days we are providing a list of warming stations in the area.

Athens-1st United Methodist Church of Athens will be opening the Beasley Center, located on the corner of Bryan Street and Marion Street, as a warming station. We will be open for NIGHTS ONLY. The hours of operation will be from 8:00 PM to 7:00 AM on Wednesday (1/22), Thursday (1/23), and Friday (1/24) nights. Hot beverages and snack foods will be available. Florence-This is for THURSDAY NIGHT; Highland Baptist Church, 219 Simpson Street, will open the Christian Life Center at 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 23, as a Warming Center/Shelter.
First Presbyterian Church in Downtown Florence will open their doors tonight at 5:00p tonight to be a warming center. Since they have supper on Wednesday nights, they have dinner covered, too. Please help us spread the word with people in need during this cold weather. NOTE: Volunteers are needed to assist with the warming center at First Presbyterian Church this weekend. If you or someone you know would like to volunteer, please contact Beth Howard as soon as possible at 256 335 0173. The shifts available are 10pm until 2am and 2am until 6am on Friday and Saturday nights. THANK YOU!
