Alton Lanace Coan – Obituary

Funeral for Alton Lanace Coan, 82, of Moulton will be Friday, December 13, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel with Justin Coan speaking. Burial will be in Mount Hope Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Coan, who died Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at Lawrence Medical Center, was born August 15, 1931, in Lawrence County to Newton Elmer Coan and Martha Luella Richard Coan. He was a U.S. Air Force Korean War veteran and a retired machine operator from Wolverine. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Frances Britnell Coan; his parents; one brother, Newton Elbert Coan; and one sister, Gurtha Irene Coan Porter.

Survivors include one son, Randal Coan (Carmalita) of Mount Hope; two daughters, Judy Blankenship (Sonny) of Moulton and Anita Cantrell (Johnny) of Town Creek; six grandchildren, Jesse Coan, Cody Cantrell, Dylan Blankenship, April Kilpatrick (Sean), Sarah Coan and Mariah Cantrell; two great-grandchildren, Bradyn Kilpatrick and Lexi Kilpatrick; and one sister, Elsie Mae Allen.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Coan, Cody Cantrell, Dylan Blankenship, Sean Kilpatrick, Roland Coan and Dale Allen.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Allen, Justin Coan and Preston Porter.
