Funeral for Alfred Lovelady, 81, of Hatton will be Sunday, July 21, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel with Milton Burks and Gary Parker officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Lovelady, who died Thursday, July 18, 2013, at his residence, was born April 10, 1932, in Lawrence County to Grady and Rhoda Southern Lovelady. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict and retired as a carpenter foreman from TVA. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Virginia Farley Lovelady; three sons, James and wife, Angela Lovelady Jr. of Town Creek, Steve Ray and wife, Nita Lovelady of Tuscaloosa and Mike and wife, LeeAnne Lovelady of Prattville; one brother, Leonard and wife, Ellene Lovelady of Town Creek; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
