Sandra Kay Elrod, age 79, passed away at her residence on Friday, October 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Sandra was beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Throughout her life, she touched the hearts of those who knew her and leaves behind a lifetime of memories that her family and all those who loved her will hold close forever.
Sandra Kay Elrod, age 79, passed away at her residence on Friday, October 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Sandra was beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Throughout her life, she touched the hearts of those who knew her and leaves behind a lifetime of memories that her family and all those who loved her will hold close forever.Sandra was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, James Elrod Jr., whom she wed three days after her 16th birthday, her son, Tracy Elrod, her parents, Irvin and Ruby Lee Bishop, and her niece, Lesley McCollum.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, Chris (Tonya) Elrod and Jamie (Pam) Elrod; grandchildren, Emily (Nick) Hendren, Alley Elrod, Taylor (Eli) Smith, and Tanner Elrod; her great-grandchildren, Sam, Haven and Harper Hendren; her siblings, Diane (Gary) Pounders and Keith (Wanda) Bishop; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members , and friends.
Although Sandra’s earthly journey has come to an end, her memory will continue to live on through the family she leaves behind. In this season of grief, her family finds comfort in the faithfulness of God and the promise that they will see her again someday and that she is reunited with her cherished husband, Jr.

Visitation will be 12-1 on Monday, November 2, 2026 at Hackleburg First Baptist,. Funeral following visitation at 1:00pm.
