Ricky Joe Trimble was born on February 24, 1955, in Corinth, Mississippi, to the late Marshall and Ernestine Trimble. He departed this life on October 31, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.

If there was one thing that defined Ricky above all else, it was the love he had for his family. His family meant more to him than anything in this world, and he found his greatest happiness in spending time with those he loved. He was the kind of man who was always thinking of the next adventure, the next family gathering, or another way to make a memory with his daughters. He was loving, protective, thoughtful, and always looking out for everyone around him. Whether he was checking on the weather and making sure everyone was safely tucked away or simply making someone laugh with one of his many jokes, Ricky had a special way of making people feel loved and cared for.

Ricky had a gift for making life special in the simplest and most memorable ways. He was an incredible cook and baker, known especially for his homemade biscuits and cookies. Everything he prepared seemed to come with a little extra love, and there was rarely anything coming out of his kitchen that wasn’t amazing. He was creative and adventurous in the kitchen, always eager to try a new recipe, experiment with different foods, and share his creations with others. His love for gardening went hand in hand with his cooking, as he enjoyed growing his own vegetables and finding ways to incorporate them into his meals. He was a natural craftsman and creative spirit who enjoyed learning new things and, even more, teaching others what he had learned.

Ricky loved celebrating the holidays and never did anything halfway. From the decorations to the food and all the little details, he went all out to make every occasion memorable. He enjoyed bringing people together and creating the kind of moments that would be talked about for years. He also knew that a good glass of sweet tea could make just about any day better, as long as it was made just right!

A lover of nature and the outdoors, Ricky enjoyed fishing, gardening, and simply taking in the beauty of the world around him. He also loved music, especially songs with meaningful lyrics, unique instruments, or a really good drum solo. He enjoyed watching his favorite crime shows and movies, playing games of all kinds, whether board games, video games, or games on his phone, and spending time with family and friends. He especially loved the companionship of his beloved dog, Chief, who was truly his whole world. Wherever Ricky went, Chief was never far behind. He took him along everywhere he could, and the two shared a bond that was unmistakable.

Above all, Ricky loved the Lord and enjoyed sharing his faith and spreading His word. His faith was an important part of who he was, and he carried that love with him throughout his life.

Ricky spent much of his working life in law enforcement, a career that reflected his protective nature and desire to look after others. He also enjoyed working as a truck driver, which gave him the opportunity to travel, discover new places, see different sights, meet new people, and, of course, try new foods along the way. Ricky was a natural storyteller who loved sharing memories of his life, adventures, and accomplishments with anyone willing to listen. He had lived a life full of experiences, and he never missed an opportunity to turn those experiences into a story that would entertain, teach, or make someone laugh.

Ricky was funny, full of personality, and always ready with a joke. His warm smile and contagious laughter could brighten a room, and he had a way of making even ordinary moments feel special. He was a man of many talents, many interests, and countless stories. There was always something new to learn, something new to try, somewhere new to go, or someone new to make a memory with.

It is difficult to put a lifetime of love, laughter, adventures, and unforgettable memories into words. Ricky’s life was simply too full to be captured in a few paragraphs. He was a devoted family man, a storyteller, a teacher, an adventurer, a protector, and a man who found joy in sharing the things he loved with the people who mattered most. His greatest legacy will not be measured by the places he traveled or the things he accomplished, but by the love he gave, the lives he touched, the lessons he shared, and the memories he leaves behind.

Ricky is survived by his wife, Anita Hester Trimble; daughters, Haley Trimble (partner, Tim Stanley), Tessa Trimble and Michelle Trimble; stepson, Aaron McAnally; sisters, Vickie (Sammy) Roach, Pam (John) Head; brother, Roger (Mary) Trimble; close friend, Scott Leathers; his loyal canine companion, Chief and a host of extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernestine Trimble and Marshall Trimble.

Per Ricky and the family’s request, there will be no formal service. Condolences may be sent to Ricky’s memorial page at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/obituaries. Holland Funeral Directors are honored to serve the family.
