Gloria Justine Tennison, 84, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2026 at her residence. She was born in Prentiss County, MS to Arlin Clyde and Hesel Irene Lambert Barnes. She was a member of Booneville First United Pentecostal Church. She loved and cared for her family dearly.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 28, 11 a.m. at Booneville First United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Jonathan Soden and Rev. Duane Burcham officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 27, 5-8 p.m. at Booneville First United Pentecostal Church. Burial will be in Fairview Church of God Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn Derks (David), Tommy Sappington (Brenda) and Marion Durham (Alvis); nine grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Janice Barnes; one brother, Jimmy Barnes; daughter-in-law, Shelly Sappington and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gene Sappington and Archie Tennison; her children, Billy Sappington and Shirley Sappington; her parents; and brothers and sisters, Cleston Barnes, Randall Barnes, Betty Barnes and Mildred Oaks.
Pallbearers will be Rodger Cleveland, Jimmy Nelson, Alvis Durham, Jr., Riley Anderson, Caleb Powers, Austin Sparks and Cole Durham.
