Samuel Lincoln Crewse was born on April 2, 1961, in Flint, Michigan, to the late John Jones Crewse, Jr., and Dora Elizabeth Russom Crewse. He passed away on October 20, 2026, in Michie, Tennessee.
Samuel had a curious mind and a lifelong love for learning, especially when it came to history. He enjoyed researching subjects that interested him, taking the time to dig deeper and discover answers for himself. He also loved to play music and had a knack for fixing things. Whether he was exploring the stories of the past, playing music, or working with his hands, Samuel enjoyed the challenge of figuring things out and learning something along the way. He was a man of faith who loved his family deeply.
He leaves behind his son, Justin Thomas Crewse and wife, Aysenaz, and granddaughter, Ayla, all of Indianapolis, Indiana; his sisters, Brenda Joan Crewse, Unita Janet Crewse Gage, and Robin Annette Crewse; and many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
In addition to his parents, Samuel was preceded in death by his brothers, Vernon Thomas Crewse, Larry Wayne Crewse, and Alan Grant Crewse.
Samuel leaves behind a family who will remember him in their own ways, through the moments they shared and the things that made him who he was. His curiosity, his love of history and music, his faith, and his love for his family were all part of his story. These are the pieces of Samuel that his family will carry with them, remembering not just the life he lived, but the person he was.
