Reuben Henderson, age 82 of Fort Payne, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026. He was born on December 5, 1943 in Fort Payne to the late Marshall & Lela Owen Henderson. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of The Valley Holiness Church. Reuben was faithful and would open his home to anyone.
A celebration of Reuben’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 30, 2026 at The Valley Holiness Church with Bro. Seth Davenport, Bro. Antony Patterson and Bro. Dwayne Short officiating. Burial will follow in the Fischer Cemetery. He will lie in state one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sheila Henderson; chosen daughter & son-in-law, Emily & Seth Davenport; chosen granddaughter, Kayleigh Davenport; brother, Pete Henderson; sister, Carol Lancaster; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Leonard, Bobby, Mack, and three infant brothers.
