Thomas Hubbard Sanderson, 74, of Tuscumbia, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 24, 2026. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 27, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Jeremy Sanderson officiating. Interment will be at Piney Grove Cemetery.
Thomas was a native of Colbert County and was retired from General Motors. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church, Tuscumbia and was preceded in death by his parents, Odell and Letha Sanderson.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Sanderson; sons, Kelly Sanderson (Jessica), Kerry “Twig” Sanderson (Melissa), and Jeremy Sanderson (Courtney); brother, Jimmy Sanderson; sister, Brenda Laster; grandchildren, Meli Green (Presley), Noah Sanderson, Phoebe Sanderson, MyKaila Sanderson, and Brody Sanderson; great-grandson, Banks Green; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
The family expresses special thanks to Hospice of North Alabama and the 4th floor staff of Helen Keller Memorial Hospital. Also, the family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, love, kindness, and support during this difficult time.
