Lois Marie Long Weaver was born December 23, 1944 on Double Branches in Collinwood, TN to the union of the late Jessie Floyd and Lola May Kilburn Long. She was united in marriage to Gifford Weaver on March 28, 1964. These two were blessed with three children: Tammy, Tim, and Nicholas. Mrs. Lois was truly a people person. She loved to be around people and found great pride in helping people, especially when she could do it quietly. She loved to travel, to see different parts of God’s wonderful creation, especially when she could do that with her sisters. While she was at home, she enjoyed quiet moments when she could read or spend time in her flower beds. In her earlier years, she liked painting ceramics and decorating cakes. There was no time she enjoyed more than spending time with her children and grandchildren who lovingly called her “Granny Lois”. Her family did not stop there, many will remember the daycare she operated for years and the many children she took care of, which brought her the title, “Nana Lois”. Some of the children she kept were fortunate enough for “Nana Lois” to be able to keep their children before she retired. She was a practical person who could make the most out of seemingly small things and loved looking for a bargain in the days of the dig stores or a yard sale. Mrs. Lois will be remembered as the person who lit up the room with her smile and personality. However, faith in her Lord Jesus Christ was the cornerstone in her life. She was a strong member of the Collinwood Church of God. Mrs. Lois departed from this life into the arms of her savior at her home on Sunday, October 18, 2026 making her stay in this life some 81 years, 9 months, and 26 days.
