This scruffy little lady is as sweet as her name! Gelato is back on the search for her perfect forever home because she isn’t comfortable sharing her space with her adopter’s senior cat. Sometimes, the perfect match just means finding the right home!

A little about Gelato:

Gets along with dogs and has attended doggie daycare!
Loves people and attention.
Walks well on a leash.
Housebroken and crate trained.
Doesn’t tend to run off.
A little under a year old!

Gelato would do best in a home without cats, where she can enjoy life with her new family. She should be crated if left alone for an extended period.

IMPORTANT: Gelato is NOT currently at the shelter, she is n foster so please call to arrange a meeting!

Sweet Stella is looking for a new best friend and a place to call home. This beautiful Boxer recently found herself at the shelter after her beloved owner passed away.

You can tell Stella was loved and well cared for. She has already experienced the heartbreaking loss of her owner, and now she needs someone to give her the love, comfort, and security she deserves. She is a senior dog that’s full of love, great in a leash and well behaved.

Stella and Cuppie ( her furry family member) went through this difficult time together, but Cuppie has officially been rescued ! We are so happy Cuppie has found a home, but that leaves Stella still waiting for her second chance.

Please, someone open your heart and home to this elderly girl. She deserves to spend her golden years surrounded by love, with a soft place to rest and a family to cherish her.

Stella deserves to know that she is still loved and that her story isn’t over. Please consider adopting her or fostering ( food, vet care paid for when fostering) Florence Lauderdale Animal Services Phone: 256-760-6676

Just look at those ears and that sweet face! Dixie Mae is a beautiful girl waiting for someone to give her a chance at a forever home.

With her gorgeous black coat, fluffy tail, and those soulful eyes, she is sure to catch your attention. But what Dixie Mae really needs is someone who will look past her kennel and see the wonderful companion she could become.

Every shelter dog deserves a chance to be loved, to feel safe, and to know what it means to be part of a family. Dixie Mae is hoping her person is out there, ready to give her the happy ending she deserves.

Could you be the one she’s been waiting for?

Let’s help Dixie Mae find her happily ever after!  Lauderdale Animal Services Phone: 256-760-6676

This is Stephan! And this boy is so unapologetically cute, loving, and LOUD!
Stephan has been showing us what a good boy he is! He’s been dog friendly, people friendly, and he hasn’t even bothered our office cat.
He absolutely LOVES being outside! He jumps, hops, and bounces around so much that we’re pretty sure he identifies as a rabbit.
Stephan has also been going through our K9 training program, and he has been doing GREAT! He’s learning, gaining confidence, and showing everyone just how smart he is.
If you’re looking for a goofy, affectionate, energetic boy who will keep you laughing, Stephan may be your guy!
Come meet this adorable “rabbit” and see if he’s the missing piece to your family! Colbert County Animal Shelter

Val is a sweet and loving Boxer mix who is patiently waiting for her turn!
This sweet girl was an amazing mama and raised a whole litter of puppies. Her babies have all found their homes, and now it’s Val’s turn to find her forever family!
Val is a treat-loving girl who enjoys getting out for long walks and spending time with her people.
One important thing to know about Val: she does NOT show well in her kennel. She can be protective of her own space, so please don’t judge this girl based on her kennel behavior. Ask us to get Val out so you can meet the real Val!
Sometimes the best dogs are the ones who need you to look a little deeper. We think Val is worth that chance.
Come meet Val and see if she could be your next best friend!  Colbert County Animal Shelter

Tamara is a 1-year-old, purebred Mixed Breed™  — and whatever breeds went into making her, they created one seriously lovable girl!
Tamara is the perfect combination of sweet, silly, playful, and gentle. She’ll get a burst of energy and show off her goofy side, but overall she’s a pretty calm girl who just wants to be close to her people and soak up ALL the love, attention, and pets she can get.
Walks well on a leash
Very friendly with people
Good with children
Good with other dogs
Calm and gentle overall
Has hilarious little bursts of goofy energy
SUPER loving and affectionate
Absolutely LOVES being petted
Does not show well in her kennel  so if you come to meet her ask to get her out!
And just look at that personality!  One minute she’s posing like a little model, the next she’s running around having the time of her life, and then she’s upside down in the grass looking like a complete goofball.
Tamara doesn’t just need a home—she needs a family who will love her goofy little self as much as she’ll love them.
Come meet Tamara and see for yourself just how special this sweet girl is!  Colbert County Animal Shelter
