Roo is estimated to be 1.5–2 years old, and she’s everything you could ask for in a best friend.
 Walks beautifully on a leash
Gets along well with the other animals at the shelter
 Knows some basic commands
Appears to be house-trained as long as she’s kept on a routine
So why is she still here?
Because the shelter is changing her.
When Roo first came to us, she lit up every time someone walked by her kennel. She’d stand at the front with a wagging tail, hoping each person was there for her.
Now… she doesn’t show well in the kennel.
This is one of the fastest kennel declines we’ve ever witnessed.
Not because she’s a bad dog.
Not because she’s given up on people.
Because living day after day in a kennel changes them. The constant barking, the loneliness, the endless waiting—it slowly steals their spirit.
The happy, hopeful girl we met is fading a little more each day, and it’s heartbreaking to watch.
Roo deserves more than concrete floors and kennel walls. She deserves a couch to stretch out on, a family to greet at the door, and someone who will remind her that she’s loved.
Please don’t let the shelter be what defines her.
If you can’t adopt, please share Roo’s story. Her family may never know she’s waiting unless this post reaches them.
Let’s help Roo find her way home before the kennel takes any more of her spark.  Colbert County Animal Shelter
Just a couple of months ago, Sabrina was so terrified that she wouldn’t even leave the corner of her kennel. She was scared, shut down, and unsure of the world around her.
But look at her now.
She walks proudly on a leash, has joined our training classes, and greets everyone she meets with a wagging tail. Watching her confidence grow has been one of the most rewarding transformations we’ve seen.
Sabrina absolutely ADORES people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She has done the hard work of learning to trust again. Now all she needs is someone to believe in her.
We’ve watched so many of our long-term residents finally find their forever homes over the last few days. The joy has been incredible…
Let’s keep the streak alive.
Let’s make Sabrina the next one to walk out our shelter doors and never have to look back.
Please share her story. Her family could be just one share away.  Colbert County Animal Shelter
Somehow, this sweet girl ended up at the shelter as a stray… and no one ever came looking for her.
Despite that, Janie hasn’t let it change her loving heart.
She is the biggest cuddle bug! Give her a soft blanket and she’ll happily roll herself up into the coziest little ball for a nap. It’s impossible not to smile when you see her all tucked in.
Janie has done great with the other dogs at the shelter and truly doesn’t know a stranger. Every person she meets is a new friend, and all she wants is love in return.
She deserves so much more than a kennel. She deserves a warm bed, a family to cuddle with every night, and a place to finally call home.
If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who will fill your home with love, Janie is waiting for you. Please come meet her—you just might find the missing piece of your family.  Colbert County Animal Shelter
