Perline Thompson Metcalfe, age 88, of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at Marion Regional Nursing Home in Hamilton, AL. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026 at 1:00pm at New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ with burial to follow in the Gilmer Addition of Sulligent City Cemetery. Elder Jeremiah Truelove to officiate. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the funeral services from 11:00am to 1:00pm.
Perline was born on March 12, 1938 in Gattman, MS to the late Raymond Thompson and the late Sally Phelps. She was a graduate of Lamar County Training School. Perline previously worked for several years for Mo’s Floral Creations and owned and operated a private catering business. She was a faithful member of New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ where she proudly served as a missionary and her servant heart was continually telling people about the Lord. Perline loved cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren which she treasured. Her loving nature and beautiful spirit will always be cherished and never forgotten by all those who loved and knew her.
