Lola June Green, age 75 of Huntland, passed away due to an extended illness on Sunday, October 4, 2026, with loved ones by her side. A native of Franklin County, she was born on June 10, 1951, to the late Worth Sutton and Susie Viola Morris Green. June was a 1969 graduate of Huntland School. She became an LPN employed at Southern Tennessee Medical Center as well as Huntsville Hospital. Not only did she have a passion for caring for others, but she also had a reverent respect for humanity and was intolerant of injustices and inequalities, always particularly empathic to the plight of the downtrodden. June was a spiritual person who was baptized into life during her twenties. She was thoughtful, giving, and gracious. She lived simply and sincerely. Always an avid reader, she enjoyed nature and researching her Native American heritage, of which she was so proud. Most would remember June in her healthy years as being adventurous, fun-loving, vibrant, and devoted to her family and friends. In addition to her wonderful parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joe Green. June is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law: Carlos and Drucilla DuBois, Andy and Mary Lee Green, and sister-in-law Patricia Green Stevenson; her loving daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Greg Garrett; grandchildren: Charlsie Garrett, her fiance’ Richard Dietz, Jesse and her husband Coleton McGee, and Dustyn Garrett and his life love Heather George; great-grandchildren: Everett, Ellie, Raiden, Sutton Dae, who is on the way, Parker, Raelynne, Hardy, and Jed; and several nephews, nieces, and many endearing cousins. Ms. Lola’s family expresses much gratitude to the hardworking staff at The Heritage Place of Winchester, formerly The Waters of Winchester, for all of their care and compassion. Her family has chosen to celebrate her life privately. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, 300 First Ave NW, Winchester, TN 37398, (931)-967-2222, www.moorecortner.com.
