Nellie Boyett Floyd, age 89, of New Hope, Alabama, went home to live with her Heavenly Father after a long illness. She passed away peacefully at Huntsville Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Nellie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend whose life was defined by her unwavering love for family, strong faith, and compassionate heart. She devoted her life to caring for those she loved and created a home filled with warmth, kindness, and cherished memories. Her gentle spirit, strength, and steadfast devotion to her family will be remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, John David Floyd; her sons, John Michael Floyd and James “Jim” Floyd; her daughters-in-law, Wanda Fletcher Floyd of Harvest, Alabama, and Amy Webster Floyd of New Hope, Alabama; her granddaughter, Amanda Floyd Wright; her granddaughter, Kelsey Lynn Finch and husband Ian Tremayne Finch, Jr.; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Serenity Lea Wright, Varian James Wright, and Jasmine Faye Finch. She also leaves behind numerous nephews, great-nephews, nieces, and great-nieces who were blessed by her love and guidance.
Nellie was preceded in death by her youngest son, William “Billy” Floyd.
Those who knew Nellie will remember her loving nature, her dedication to family, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome and cared for. She never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer encouragement, or share a kind word. Her legacy lives on through the generations of family she nurtured and loved so deeply.
While her family grieves her passing, they find comfort in knowing that she is reunited with loved ones who have gone before her and is resting in the eternal peace of her Heavenly Father’s presence.
Nellie’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love a gift that will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

Visitation will be Wednesday 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel. Services will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor W.O. Dub McCain officiating.
Interment will be in Brown Cemetery.
