Cary Wade King, age 60 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at his residence. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Winchester on January 27, 1966. For many years, Wade was employed as a mental health counselor in Tullahoma. Artistic by nature and extremely talented, he enjoyed music, playing the fiddle and violin, and painting. Taking trips to Gatlinburg, attending Indian POW WOWs, and learning about Indian culture interested Wade. He also enjoyed researching genealogy and studying his family’s ancestry. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved family and especially loved to aggravate his sister. A Christian, he attended Sewanee Church of God. Wade was preceded in death by his father, Dewey King; grandparents, Emmett and Eliza King and Monroe and Mae Tant; and brother-in-law, Shawn Haraway. He is survived by his loving mother, Annie Dean King; siblings, Chad King and Kim Haraway (Dayton) Winton; nieces, Kailee Rigsby and Carley Rigsby; aunts, Vivian (Ray) Trussell, Ethel King, and Anna Lee (John) Kuntz; uncle, Barney (Donna) Tant; special friends, Jackie Ramsey and Mark Lewis; many special cousins; and Lilly, his cat. Visitation will be from 12-2pm on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Victor Tiller officiating. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens with Leonard King, Derek Worley, Todd Swann, Dayton Winton, Jay Palmer, Tyler Strope, Chris Harris, and Jon Forster serving as pallbearers.
