Judy Diane Smith Sims, 72, of Claysville, passed away Saturday.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wayne Sims (Grant); parents, Estelle Morton Noblitt & Asbury ‘Tom’ Smith (Guntersville); brothers, Ronald, Jimmy, Barry Wade and Jackie Ray Smith; son, Christopher Wayne Sims (Grant).
She is survived by her son, Gregory Allen & Amy Sims (New Hope); nieces, Tara, Lori, Jacquelin, and Amber; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren, cherished friends and neighbors.
Judy enjoyed time with family, especially the grands, who called her ‘Maw-maw.’ She took on the ‘Mama’ role for friends of her boys and nieces, as if they were her own. She often reminisced about camping in Honeycomb. Judy took pride in her yard work and loved the outdoors. She hosted numerous gatherings for family and friends.
A private service will be held at a later date.
