William Veard Whitehead, 66, of Florence, passed away at North Alabama Medical Center on Friday, August 28, 2026. William was an avid deer hunter that loved the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing and fatherhood.
There will be a memorial service held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Petersville Church of Christ, 3601 Cloverdale Rd, Florence, AL, 35633.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buddy and Hilda Gurley Whitehead; brother, Ronald Whitehead; sisters, Becky Whitehead Peters and Ginnie Whitehead Brewer.
He was survived by his wife Stephanie Denise O’Berry Whitehead; sons, Darrell Whitehead (Morgan), William Christopher Whitehead (Mahaylia) and Andrew Kyle Whitehead; grandchildren, Jaycee Lynn Whitehead Ingram, Koby Curtis Edgil, Emmitt Garrison Whitehead, William Ryder Whitehead and William Theodore Whitehead; great-grandchild Marigold Ray Ingram.
