In Loving Memory of Tommy Lee Dooley
Tommy Lee Dooley, 81, passed away peacefully in Haleyville, Alabama, on August 27, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, cherished memories, and family who will miss him dearly.
Tommy was born on January 14, 1945, to the late Henry and Bessie Dooley. He graduated from Phillips High School in 1962. Tommy spent much of his working life in the mobile home industry, where he worked as a draftsman. His talent and knowledge eventually led him to own and operate his own mobile home supply business for several years. After retiring, he worked for the City of Haleyville.
Tommy had a compassionate heart, not only for his family and friends but also for animals in need. He often helped stray animals in the area and generously supported FreeState Four Paws, a cause that was close to his heart. His kindness toward animals reflected the caring and giving person he was.
Tommy also had a special appreciation for old cars and trucks and vintage toys. He enjoyed collecting and admiring these treasures, which brought him great pleasure and reflected his love of history, craftsmanship, and cherished memories.
Tommy was a devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Family was an important part of his life, and he will be remembered for the love he shared and the special memories he created with those closest to him.
Tommy is survived by his beloved wife, Tialisa Dooley; his daughter, Tenille (Adam) Moore; his son, Darrin (Susan) Caldwell; and his stepdaughters, Shayla (Cody) Jones and Megan Kinkead.
He was a proud grandfather to Pierce Moore, Aiden Moore, Matt (Hope) Caldwell, Conner Caldwell (fiancé Simone), Harper Jones, Spencer Jones, and Connor Jones, and a cherished great-grandfather to Sadie Caldwell.
His family will forever treasure the time they shared with him—the laughter, conversations, celebrations, and simple everyday moments that become especially precious when someone we love is gone. His grandchildren and great-granddaughter will carry with them the memories of his love and the special place he held in their lives.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Jeff Long, Brandy Hyde, CRNP, Dr. Laganke, and Nina Long, CRNP, for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they provided to Tommy and his family. Their dedication and care during this difficult time will always be deeply appreciated.
The family also extends special thanks to CenterWell Home Health and Amedisys Hospice of Hamilton for the compassionate care and support they provided.
Tommy’s passing leaves an emptiness that cannot be filled, but his love, kindness, and memories will continue to live on through his family and all those whose lives he touched. His compassion for people and animals alike, along with his love of old cars, trucks, and vintage toys, will remain important parts of the legacy he leaves behind.

A celebration of Tommy’s life will be held Sunday, August 30, 2026 at The Main Event in Haleyville, AL from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Family and friends will be invited to gather, celebrate his life, and share memories of a man who was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
