Carolyn Faye McBee, age 74, of Manchester, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. She was born on March 21, 1952, in Decherd, Tennessee, to the late Arthur and Maggie (Stewart) Elliott.
In her younger years, Carolyn attended Eastside Nazarene Church of Christ. She was a dedicated and hardworking woman who retired after thirty years of service with SAS Company.
Above all, Carolyn cherished time spent with her family. She loved baking delicious treats for those she loved, especially her famous hummingbird cake, which was always a family favorite. An avid reader, Carolyn especially enjoyed Nicholas Sparks novels. She also loved working crossword puzzles, coloring beautiful pictures, and crocheting special items for her family and friends. In the evenings, she could often be found enjoying a delicious meal at Emma’s Restaurant or relaxing at home while watching one of her favorite westerns. Carolyn will be remembered for the love she had for her family and the many special memories she created with those closest to her.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her brothers, Billy Elliott and Ernest Elliott; grandson, Adam McBee; grandson-in-law, Damien Hodges; and longtime companion, Joseph “Joey” Garner.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Shawn (Dorothy) McBee, Stefanie McBee, and Jonathan Edwards (Dee Howard); grandchildren, Keri Nunley, Katrina Nunley, Isaac Nunley, Emily Nunley, Paige McBee, and Lily McBee; great-grandchildren, Avery Arp, Waylon Hodges, Briley Owens, Nova Mooningham, Hazel Owens, Layken Owens, Mason Nunley, and Evelyn Thomas, who is on the way; best friend and sister at heart, Brenda (David) Garner; and several extended family members.
Services for Carolyn will be held privately.
