Lynne Louise Duchock, 52, of Decatur, Alabama, passed away on August 17, 2026.Lynne was a beloved wife, mother, Gigi, daughter, sister, and friend. She was incredibly strong, fiercely loved her family, and had a personality that was impossible to miss. She was funny, sarcastic, and never afraid to be loud when the situation called for it.
If there was music playing, chances were Lynne knew every word to every song. Singing was simply part of who she was, and those who loved her will undoubtedly think of her whenever one of those familiar songs comes on.
The beach was Lynne’s happy place. There was something about being near the water that brought her peace and happiness, and some of her family’s most treasured memories will always be connected to those moments.
But more than anything, Lynne loved her family. She especially treasured being Gigi to her grandchildren, Saoirse and Emerick. Within her family, Lynne held a place that was uniquely her own. Her siblings lovingly—and perhaps with a little truth behind it—referred to her as “the mean sister.” It was an inside joke that brought plenty of laughs and is now one of the countless little things they will always remember about her.
Lynne is survived by her husband, Pete Duchock; her daughters, Courtney, Kaytlyn, Katrina, and Maddie; her son, Noah; her grandchildren, Saoirse and Emerick; her parents, David and Teresa Fletcher; and her siblings, April, David, and Marie.
Lynne’s family would have given anything for more time with her, but the life she lived left them with something that cannot be taken away. Her strength, her sarcasm, her laughter, her songs, her love, and the memories they made together will remain a part of them always.
She was a wife. A mom. A Gigi. A daughter. A friend. And, of course, “the mean sister.”
She will be loved, remembered, and missed beyond measure.
