Lisa Mealer Cross, age 49, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Alive Hospice Nashville, TN.
Lisa was born on September 16, 1976, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Danny Mealer and Mrs. Sherry Sanders Mealer who survives. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Kniowlen and Annie B. Sanders and D.J. and Virginia Mealer.
She is survived by her mother Sherry Sanders Mealer; husband Troy Cross and sons Eli and Jake Cross all of Lewisburg; sister Candy Hobbs (Brian) of Lynnville; nieces, Madison, Audrey and Annie Hobbs, Ashley Short, Abby Hall, and Hannah Swinney; nephews, Zach Cross and Evan Cross, several great nieces and nephews.
She was the Director of Community Planning for South Central TN Development District and a member of the First Baptist Church of Lewisburg. Lisa was the 1994 Senior Class President and graduate of Marshall County High School, where she was a decorated athlete for the Lady Tigers Softball Team and a Cheerleader. Lisa started her college education at Tennessee Technological University. She transferred to Middle Tennessee State University and graduated in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, major in marketing. On January 2, 1999, Lisa married the love of her life, Troy Cross of Lewisburg. She was an avid Atlanta Braves and Tennessee Vols fan, enjoyed supporting and attending her boys ball games, going to the beach, and shopping. Lisa was a bright light of joy, who never met a stranger. She loved her family and friends deeply.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests donations be made in her memory to First Baptist Church of Lewisburg, 323 N. 2nd Avenue, Lewisburg, TN 37091 or to the Marshall County Cancer Foundation, P O Box 82 Belfast, TN 37019.
Visitation with the family will be held at First Baptist Church of Lewisburg on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 5:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Lewisburg with Pastor Joe Dugger officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery with Justin Neece, Evan Cross, Sammy Sanders, Zach Cross, Frank Foster, Marshall Miller, Brian Hobbs, and John Karby serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Jerry Mansfield, Joe Evans, Jeff Smith, and Bengi Gilliam.
