John Horace Fowler, 86, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Sanctuary Hospice, Tupelo, MS. He was born in Franklin County, AL to John Arlin and Nannie Bell Halcomb Fowler. He owned and operated Fowler Garage for over 60 years and was a lifetime member of New Union Missionary Baptist Church, Red Bay, AL. He loved to fish and spend time with his family.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 28, 2 p.m. at New Union Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Randy Hargett officiating. Visitation will be Friday, August 28, 12-2 p.m. at New Union Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Halltown Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by three sons, Timothy Dale Fowler (Lynda), Carlton Fowler (Karen), Craig Fowler (Carla); daughter, Larissa Miller (Rick); grandchildren, Carly Hellums (Brent), T.J. Fowler (Emily), Katie Hess (Marshall), Jessica von Harten (Peder), Brock Miller, Brett Miller, Logan Fowler and Kara Miller and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Tommie Jean Fowler; his parents; son, John William Fowler; daughter, Lashea Lynn Fowler; two sisters, Magdeline Dees and Louise Brown and three brothers, J.C. Fowler, Elmer Fowler and Oneal Fowler.
Pallbearers will be Brock Miller, Brett Miller, Logan Fowler, T.J. Fowler, Billy Brown and Roger Lee Nelson. Jerry Dees will serve as honorary pallbearer.
