Charles Jack Shewbart, 95, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Franklin County, AL to Charles Clarence and Esther Naomi Strickland Shewbart. He was a member of Burnout Missionary Baptist Church. He found great joy in working in his garden and his yard and most of all staying at home, surrounded by his family until his death.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 25, 3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Billy Nichols officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 25, 1-3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dempsey Cemetery, Russellville, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by two children, Connie Pendegraph and John Shewbart and his wife, Jamie; daughter-in-law, Debbie Shewbart; grandchildren, Brandon Pendegraph (Dianne), Brandi Ledbetter, Jessica Lindquist (Todd), Jada Squyres (Matt), Deidra Bedgood (Caleb) and Hayden Seahorn; five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marvelene Shewbart; his parents; son, Doug Shewbart and sister, Betty Jo Shewbart.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Pendegraph, Brock Raper, Todd Lindquist, Hayden Seahorn, Mark Massey and Todd James.
Honorary pallbearers will be Emmett Ledbetter, Laken, Jack and Greyson Raper, Grace Pendegraph, Hayley and Addison King.
