William Garner Walden, 78, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026 at NMMC, Iuka, MS. He was born December 7, 1947 in Tishomingo County, MS to William Ramsey and Etta Doris Evans Walden. He worked as a logger for Cox Logging for 15 years. He was a US Army veteran serving in Vietnam and was a member of the American Legion.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 26, 1 p.m. at Tishomingo Baptist Church with Bro. Rusty Fair officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 25, 5-8 p.m. at Tishomingo Baptist Church. Burial will be in Forked Oak Cemetery, Booneville, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by three brothers, Bobby Walden, Sr., Robert Walden (Sherry) and Sherman Walden; special nephew, Bobby Walden, Jr. and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Flip” Walden and Doris Walden.
