Patsy Elizabeth Coats, age 73, passed away peacefully on August 19th, 2026. She was born on October 26th, 1952, to Clifford Odie Smith and Mary Elizabeth Christopher.
Patsy was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She attended Lindsay Baptist Church and cherished the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Tansey Barksdale (Bryan Folsom) and Carmen Harvey (Tim Adams); grandchildren, Jarod Barksdale (Sydney), Todd Barksdale, Joshua Carter, and Jasmine Underwood; and great-granddaughter, Ivy Renee Barksdale, and niece Kim Wilbanks (Tim).
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Odie Smith and Mary Elizabeth Christopher; her husband, Jeffery Wade Coats Sr.; her brother, Steve Smith; and her sister, Phyllis Johnston.
A graveside service for immediate family only will be held Monday, August 24th, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Limestone Memorial Gardens, with Dusty McElmore officiating.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Folsom, Jarod Barksdale, Todd Barksdale, and Tim Adams.
Patsy will be lovingly remembered for the love she shared with her family and the memories she leaves behind. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
