Gregory Lynn Hicks, age 40, of Mt. Olive, Alabama, passed away on August 17, 2026.
Greg was a great friend with a big heart and a hardworking, long-time diesel mechanic. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Greg was preceded in death by his wife, Maleaha Hicks; his mother, Tina Hicks; his brother, Randy Hicks; and his cousin, David Hicks.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mothers, Gina Lawson (mother-in-law) and Linda Flynn; his sons, Tyler Hicks (Madison) and Skylar Harris; and his grandson, Tyson Hicks, his little buddy.
He is also survived by his siblings, Katie Marlin, Jarred Fields, Rheanna Tidwell (Aubery), and Taci Henslee (Thomas); his nieces, Taytum Fields, his pride and joy, and Tenslee Long; and his nephews, Taylor Hicks and David Durham.
His aunts and uncles include Leon Washington, Rita Goldner, Phyllis Hicks, Gary White (Roslyn), Johnny Eustice (Vicki), and David Eustice.
Greg is also survived by cousins Joey Washington, Liz Norris, Janet Norris, Sandy Freeman, Jerry Washington, Barry Washington, Johnny Washington, Jeremy Cox, Ricky Reeves, Jonathan Reeves, Josh Washington, Phillip Hicks, Amanda Cook, Ashley Hornbuckle, Ronnie Hicks, Brandy Suggs, Derrick Hicks, Penny Washington, Kennith Washington, Michael Washington, Sharona Smith (Eli), Joe’ White (Leila), Evan White (Hope), Krista Owens, and Blake Eustice, along with many other extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday August 23, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Guy Beaty officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Gregory will be laid to rest at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
