Diane Mary Mosbey Raymond, born on September 25, 1944, in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, in Huntsville, Alabama.
After years of working in the private sector, Diane joined the Army as a civilian Contract Specialist in March 2003. She was officially commended for her work on the Missile Spares Division Tiger Team in September 2005. She was commended by the Department of the Army in December 2009, for her significant contribution to the Kiowa Warrior Program. She earned her Level 3, Certified Acquisition Professional certification in June 2010. She became a GS-13 Contract Specialist in October 2010. Soon afterwards she became a Contracting Officer with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). She transferred to the Army Corp of Engineers in October 2012. She retired in 2018.
Diane earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in December 1990. She had previously been awarded an associate in science (Accounting), Magna Cum Laude, from John C. Calhoun State Community College in August 1987. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She joined the National Contract Management Association in December 1995.
Diane was preceded in death by her brothers, Melvin A. Mosbey, Junior, and Calvin Joseph Mosbey, Calvin’s son, Daryl Jo Mosbey, as well as by her parents, Melvin A. Mosbey, Senior, and Thelma Morlier Mosbey.
She is survived by her loving children, Donald Jason Raymond and Wendy Raymond Fowler (Shane); and her three grandchildren, Riley Fowler, Blake Fowler, and Anna Catherine Fowler. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Mosbey Wright; her sister-in-law, Joan Duthu Mosbey (Calvin); her niece, Dionna Elise Ducote; and nephews, Brian Mosbey and Lewis Edgar Wright.
Diane adored her three beagles: Sam, Emma and Pip.
In her retirement, she watched murder mysteries on Amazon and followed the New Orleans Saints, including attending several games at the Super Dome. She remained devoted to the New Orleans she grew up in, and desired to be buried in Louisiana near her family. She was a devout member of the Catholic Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Interment on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph the Abbey Cemetery 75376 River Road, St. Benedict, Louisiana 70457.
