Sandra Gail Ash, 78, of Florence, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, with her son by her side. She was born March 21, 1948, in Arkansas. Sandra spent years as a beautician before she and her husband, Mike, made their home in Horn Lake, Mississippi. Sandra was an amazing cook and everyone loved her food. They retired in Horn Lake, but even after those years away, the Shoals was always home.
She loved music and quiet time to think, and above all she loved her family. In all she did, she was selfless, always putting others before herself, and she was loved by so many. To those closest to her, she was Momma, Nanny, Sis, and Aunt Sandra. Those she leaves behind will carry her love and her example with them always.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Ash; her children, Sharon Powell, Melvin Powell, and James Powell Jr; her parents, Wilson and Dorothy Condrey; her stepfather, Hubbard Weaver; her sister, Beth Weaver; and her brother, Larry Condrey.
She is survived by her son, Michael Powell; her stepsons, Matt Ash and John Ash, and their wives; her grandchildren, Daniel Powell and wife Bailey, James Powell and wife Megan, Blake Powell, Brittany Powell, Josh Powell; her great-grandchildren, Lilia Sheaks, Andrew Credille, Greyson Powell, Kaycee Mae Powell, Rylen Powell, Judah Powell, Ezra Powell, Miles Powell and Thea Powell; her sisters, Janice Bevis, and Elouise Nichols and husband Don; her brother, Charles Condrey and wife Rebecca; and a host of nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 AM Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Greenview Funeral Home in Florence.
The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 11 a.m. with Licia House officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James Powell, Blake Powell, Daniel Powell, Tommy Condrey, Michael Powell, and John Ash.
