Martha Elaine “Honey” Willis, age 76, of Tuscumbia, Alabama, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at First Baptist Colbert Heights Church. The funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 PM with Brother Seth Hood officiating. Burial will take place at New Bethel Cemetery.
Honey was born in Florence, Alabama, on May 30, 1950, to the late John Madison Jones and Nadine Hodges Jones. She attended Oakland Junior High and graduated from Central High School in Florence in 1968. On January 13, 1973, she married the love of her life, Leroy Willis.
Together, Honey and “Pop” built a strong, faith-filled home and raised their three sons in Colbert County, sharing 53 wonderful years of marriage.
Honey was a retired dedicated employee of the Colbert County School System. Above all else, Honey loved God first. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she poured that love into her church family at First Baptist Colbert Heights Church, where she taught children’s church for many years and later treasured her time attending the Ruth’s Sunday School Class. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Honey is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Leroy Willis; her sons, Brandyn, Dustyn (Nikki), and Dobye (Amy); her brother Gary (Judy) Jones, her grandchildren, Sarah (Adam), Ike, Lee (Journey), Brantley, Maggie, Lakyn, Brody (Carly), Madison (Ernesto), and Bear; and 9 precious great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John M. and Nadine Jones, and sister, Willa Jean Mcintyre.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brandyn Willis, Dustyn Willis, Dobye Willis, Ike Willis, Brody Dexter, Lee Willis, Tynison Willis, and Brantley Willis.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the many nurses who lovingly cared for Honey over the past few years, with special thanks to Kevin Taylor, the ICU nursing team, and the 4th Floor Palliative Care nurses at Helen Keller Hospital.
