Tennessee Woman Dies After Car Leaves Roadway And Is Struck By State Trooper Vehicle While Trying To Elude Authorities

HUNTSVILLE-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident involving an on-duty State Trooper resulting in te death of a Tennessee Woman:

“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:04 p.m. Saturday, August 8, has claimed the life of a Prospect, Tennessee woman.

Hailie D. Hune, 21, was fatally injured when the 2017 Dodge Charger she was driving left the roadway, overturned and struck a concrete barrier. The 2017 Dodge Charger was then struck by the 2020 Dodge Charger driven by an on-duty Trooper, assigned to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division.

Hune was pronounced deceased at the scene. The ALEA Trooper was injured and transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.

Prior to the crash, Hune was attempting to elude the Trooper, who was in a marked patrol vehicle.

The crash occurred Interstate 565, near the 14 mile marker, within the city limits of Huntsville, in Madison County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
