Thomas Harold LongThomas Harold Long passed peacefully on August 8, 2026, at the age of 91. He was born on June 7, 1935, in Lawrence County, Alabama to the late Walter “Shorty” and Cecil Long. He was married to Brenda Aycock Long.

Thomas worked at the U.S. Reduction until it closed then Ed Mansell (Kodiak Construction) for 15 years.
He was a member of Tharptown Baptist Church. He received his associate degree from Northwest Community College.

Thomas enjoyed playing the guitar, traveling, going dancing, and watching his granddaughter play basketball and softball. His favorite song was El Paso by Marty Robbins. He was one of a kind, stubborn as a mule, and loved to be called a perfect a-hole. He was a cut-up and loved his family fiercely. He lived a long life, and it was an honor to be loved by him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and his son Thomas “Tommy” Long.
Thomas is survived by his daughter, Stacia Ann Long; grandchildren, Tyler Long (Molly), Kaitlyn O’Kelley (Dawson); great-grandson, Briar Thomas Ray O’Kelley, who was named after him.
