Bobby Wade Darnell, age 86, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Bobby was born December 9, 1939, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, to the late Albert and Ruby Jones Darnell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Frank and two brothers, Jimmy Darnell and William Darnell.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Stella Darnell; daughters, Juana Swanson of Manchester and Tara (David) Roberts of Bruceton, TN; son Payson Darnell of Lewisburg; sister Edna (John) Hendrix of Smyrna; four grandsons, Justice Swanson, Dallas Swanson, Blake Roberts, and Will Roberts; three great grandchildren.
Bobby will be remembered as a devoted family member, a faithful servant, and a man whose quiet strength and steady presence touched the lives of those who knew and loved him. He worked as a supervisor in the shipping department of Newell Manufacturing, where he was respected for his dedication, dependability, and strong work ethic. He was a faithful member of Parkview Baptist Church and a former deacon. He also served his country in the Army National Guard, a reflection of his sense of duty and honor. Bobby found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, watching westerns, listening to country music, and collecting L&N model trains. He will be missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
Visitation with the family will be held at London Funeral Home, 324 West Church Street, Lewisburg, TN, on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 1:00 pm at London Funeral Home with Pastor Wyatt Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery with Justice Swanson, Dallas Swanson, Blake Roberts, David Roberts, Gary Hollingsworth, and Troy Cawthorn serving as pallbearers.
