Quida was very proud to be a military wife, supporting her husband Max. They traveled the country and made friends who became family everywhere they went. After her husband retired, they moved home to Walker County. Ouida started working at the Parrish post office. She worked there for 30 years. She enjoyed her mail route visiting with all the people. She always had gum and candy for all the children on her route. She loved watching all the children grow up.
She was a member of Pleasantfield Baptist Church. She loves God and Jesus. She found comfort in her last days holding on to her bible and praying.
For several years she lived at Harbor Chase. She made so many friends and made the best of her time there. Due to her health she moved to Ridgeview nursing home and was able to be in the room with her sister, Shirley. They got to spend their last year on this earth together.
Her family is very thankful for the care she received at both places. Anita Williams and the staff at Harbor Chase went far and beyond to care for her. Joe Kelley, Joette Brown, Alicia Stewart and all the staff at Ridgeview were very good to her.
Ouida’s greatest joy was her family and being a grandmother.
