Paul Davis lived and loved out loud- and the world is richer for it.
Born in November 1941, Paul excelled early in life, distinguished in school, choir, and athletics. His passion for golf earned him four yeas on the varsity team and two appearances in state tournaments. He went on to earn his associate’s degree and found his true calling as a natural salesman, building a career that gave his family a life to be proud of.
Paul was the first to show up when someone needed help- and humble enough to acknowledge the many times others showed up for him, too. That kind of grace defined him.
In his later years, Paul returned to Tennessee, where his lifelong love of horses came full circle. Whether racing, hitching wagons, or saddling up with his children and grandchildren, who were the light of his life, he was in his element among the gentle giants. He passed on that love – and a lesson worth keeping: falling off a horse is just another chance to get back up and show them who’s boss. Don’t let the hard days win. Life is better in the saddle.
He is preceded in glory by his loving parents, grandparents, brothers, aunts, uncles, two precious souls taken too soon and daughter-in-law who was fierce in life & her fight. He is survived by his devoted brother and three children, his love of a lifetime, son-in-law, aunts, uncles, and grandchildren whose passions – dance, golf, baseball, football, construction, art, sales, reading, and the beloved “Yellow Store” – he knew by heart, because they were his heart.
Dad, thank you for it all especially your love and devotion. You grabbed life and were always ready for the ride. “Go Man Go”! We love you and miss you so much. We have the reins. Jesus is calling. Giddy up.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Loretto Memorial Chapel. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
