Funeral service for Tommie Lee Jones, 84, will be Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM at East Highland Baptist Church with Bro. Walter Blackman officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at East Highland Baptist Church.
Mr. Jones passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Encompass Health and Rehab. He was born October 21, 1941, in Morgan County to Lee Roy Jones and Laura Este Saint Jones.
Tommie Lee was retired from employment at Monsanto, where he was a Foreman. He also worked for Peck Funeral Home as a part-time Funeral Assistant for many years and was caring to the families he served. He served proudly in the United States Army and was an E5 for the 2nd Engineering Battalion 3rd Division. His favorite roles in life were being a devoted husband to Nancy for 58 years, father to Angela and Chris and being a Pawpaw to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was very involved in his families lives and loved them all dearly.
Tommie Lee was a long-time member of East Highland Baptist Church, was a Deacon, and was a devoted Christian man. He was a lifelong Alabama football fan and loved fishing and camping. Tommie was a wonderful, devoted friend to those he knew and cared about. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother- Kenneth Roy Jones.
Survivors include-
Wife – Nancy Carolyn Jones,
Daughter – Angela Jones Roden (Donnie),
Son – Chris Jones (Jennifer),
Grandchildren – Hayden Jones, Grant Jones (Sydney),
Tommie Roden (Savannah), and Wesley Roden.
Great Grandchildren – Thatcher Jones and Sterling Jones
Pallbearers will be Chris Jones, Donnie Roden, Hayden Jones,
Tommie Roden, Grant Jones, Wesley Roden,
Honorary Pallbearers will be Allen Drinkard, Larry Long, Bill Smelser and Howard Saint.
