Mrs. Nellie “Sue” Hughes was born in Fulton, MS, on May 1, 1945, to George and Lorean Bowling. Sue went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 21, 2026. Some of her favorite hobbies included going to church, seeing friends and family, walking, and shopping. She was an extraordinary wife/mother/grandmother and the rock to her big family. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Fulton, MS.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 26, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Bobby Amos officiating. Burial will be at Fulton Cemetery.
She is survived by her children: daughter, Alisa Miller of Pontotoc, MS and son, Kevin Spencer (Lucretia) of Mantachie, MS; her granddaughters Jennifer Langley (Ryan), Mallory Williams (Ben), Rebecca Hodges, and Keileigh Spencer; great-grandchildren, Ridge and Jensen Langley, and Emersyn Prestage; a sister-in-law, Becky Bowling; and a large extended family with a special bond to her niece Judy Wise (Mark), great nephew David Allen Bowling, and great niece Angel Bishop.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Billy (Wanda) and Bobby Bowling.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Langley, Ben Williams, Mason Prestage, Will Bowling, Raymond Bowling, Jr., Logan Bishop, and Coley Wise.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Wise, David Allen Bowling, Willie Bowling, and Raymond Bowling, Sr.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 25, and from noon until service time Friday at the funeral home.
