Penelope Lou Duck Cagle, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home on June 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family following a sudden illness.
Born on October 16, 1946, in Dover, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Angie Renner Baker. Penelope proudly served her country in the United States Army. During her military service, she met Bobby Duck, the father of her children and her first husband. They shared many years together until his passing in 2005.
A devoted Christian woman, Penelope was a faithful member of BBL Pentecostal Church and the Women’s Auxiliary. She was also a proud member of the American Legion and rarely missed a meeting. Her faith guided her life, and she was known by all who knew her as a kind, loving, and compassionate woman who never met a stranger. She loved people and could strike up a conversation with anyone she met.
Penelope retired from Leroy Somer after many years of dedicated service. In her retirement, she enjoyed reading, knitting, sewing, watching HGTV, and most of all, spending precious time with her family. On January 1, 2020, she married Gerald Cagle, and together they shared six wonderful years of marriage.
In addition to her first husband, Bobby Duck, she was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, George Baker.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Gerald Cagle; her brother, Kenny Baker; her sister, Ginger Hall; two sons, Fred (Christy) Duck and Ted (Dennise) Duck; one stepdaughter, Angie (Mike) Cagle; one stepson, Richie Cagle; grandchildren, Stephanie (John) McFerren, Cassie (Nathaniel) Dickerson, Tessa (Austin) Duck, Robert Moser, Jordan Byerly, Misty Duck, great grandchildren, Catrina McFerren, Richard McFerren, Tytus Range and a special great grandson, Carson Holmes; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday at Pafford Funeral Home in Scotts Hill with burial to follow in Pafford Scotts Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM.
Though her presence will be greatly missed, her legacy of faith, kindness, and love for others will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
