Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00, with the service beginning at 3:00.

Jaxon entered the presence of his Savior on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by the love of his family.

Jaxon was born on June 23, 2005, in Decatur Alabama, to Joshua Dale Morrow and Lela Hazel Orr.

From the very beginning, Jaxon’s life was extraordinary. Born with an extremely rare genetic condition, he was only the 36th documented case worldwide and, at the time of his passing, the only known living person with his diagnosis. While Jaxon’s genetic condition made him one in billions, those who loved him knew there was never anyone quite like him. Though his journey was marked by challenges and medical obstacles that most could never imagine, Jaxon faced each day with determination, resilience, and a fighting spirit that inspired everyone who knew him.

Jaxon found joy in life’s simplest pleasures. He loved Toy Story and could always find his best buddy, Sheriff Woody, no matter where he was. He never met a sports jersey he didn’t want to wear, and if he could pick up something, chances were he was going to throw it…especially empty water bottles at Hartselle sporting events. He loved his iPad, loved being around people, and absolutely loved school. Riding the bus, seeing his teachers and friends, and being a part of Hartselle City Schools family brought him tremendous happiness.

Though Jaxon never spoke words, he communicated in ways that needed no translation. His smile could light up a room, his laughter was contagious, and his presence had a way of bringing joy to everyone around him. He was loved deeply by his family, caregivers, teachers, classmates, and countless friends throughout the community.

For nearly 21 years, Jaxon taught those around him lessons in perseverance, unconditional love, patience, and joy. His life was a reminder that greatness is not measured by what a person can do, but by the love they give and the lives they touch.

While our hearts ache in his absence, we rejoice in the promise of Heaven. We take comfort in knowing that Jaxon is now completely healed, whole, and free from every limitation he faced on earth. For the first time in his life, Jaxon is running without stumbling, speaking without limitation, and experiencing the fullness of the perfect healing found only in the presence of Jesus. We can only imagine the joy of his heavenly homecoming as he opened his eyes and saw Jesus face to face. After a lifetime of being cared for by those who loved him most, Jaxon is now being cared for by the One who created him-

Jaxon was preceded in death by his beloved Grammy, Penny Smallwood Hazel; his Papa, Jimmy Dale Hazel; his great-grandmother, Jane Teague Smallwood; and great-grandparents, Harold Andrews and Illinois “Tiny” Andrews.

He is survived by his parents, John David and Lela Hazel Orr, and Joshua Dale Morrow; his brothers, Brodie Kohlman Morrow, John David Orr, Jr. and wife, Caroline, and Daniel Harrison Orr; his best friend and nanny, Emma Kate Kyker; grandparents, Vann ArdenMorrow and Susan Kay Morrow; aunt, Jessica Hazel Fitzgerald; uncles, Errett Joe Fitzgerald and Heath Vann Morrow; cousins, Charleigh Renee Fitzgerald and Stone Morrow; along with many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Hospice of the Valley for the compassion, dignity, and exceptional care they provided during the final days of Jaxon’s life.
