Jamie Todd Sizemore of Tuscumbia, Alabama, passed away on May 22, 2026 at the age of 51. He was born on January 29, 1975, to Roy and Donna Sizemore.
Todd was a graduate of Cherokee High School where he played baseball and formed many lifelong friendships. His childhood home was often the gathering place for pick-up basketball games and team pool parties. He continued his baseball career at Itawamba Community College and Northwest Shoals Community College before beginning his career at Norfolk Southern Railroad.
Todd worked for 31 injury-free years as a railroad Engineer and Conductor. He was elected by his peers to serve as Local Chairman of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) Division 423 for twelve years. He also served as Secretary-Treasurer, First Vice Chairman, and most recently Chairman of the BLET Alabama State Legislative Board.
Todd was deeply committed to the workers he represented and did all he could to support them throughout their careers. He worked to advocate for railroad safety regulations to help protect railroad workers and was a friend to all who needed his counsel.
Todd married Kim on June 22, 2002, and together they shared 23 wonderful years of marriage. Together they enjoyed traveling, meals with friends, and most importantly, time with their daughter Abbie.
Abbie was the bright light for Todd and he made sure she never lacked anything. He loved sharing her accomplishments with friends, whether that be on the sideline of a game or making the President’s list at the University of North Alabama.
He enjoyed fishing, watching football, and time with the people he loved. One of the highlights of each year was the annual fishing trip to Elliot’s Branch at Little Bear Creek with his dad and close friends. He loved to cook for a crowd and made sure those he loved had all they needed.
Todd was steady and deeply loyal in every role he played in his life. He loved a good nickname for his buddies and Sunday lunches with his family. He always had a story to share, a smile on his face, and a laugh that was contagious to everyone around him.
Todd attended Launch Point Church and was a member of Barton First Baptist Church.
Todd is preceded in death by his father, Roy; mother-in-law, Sharon Chaney; and grandparents, Christine and Howard Wallace and Pearlie Lindsey and Lecil Sizemore. Todd is survived by his wife, Kim; daughter, Abbie; mother, Donna; sister, Courtney; father-in-law Roger Chaney; and many beloved family members and friends who will miss his presence in their lives.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 25 at 1:00 at Barton First Baptist. Visitation will be held from 11:00-1:00 at the church with a graveside service following at Barton Cemetery.
