Funeral services for Merle Wade Haynes, age 87 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Haynes passed away Monday night in Crestwood Medical Center.
She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late Eugene Higgins and Josephine Taylor Wade and the wife of the late Frank Haynes. Mrs. Haynes retired from Amana Refrigeration and was a member of the Howell Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed baking, gardening and spending time with her great nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her sisters Glyndon Johnston of Fayetteville, Jo Lynn Taylor of Clarksville, brother Guy Wade of Fayetteville and several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews, Mrs. Haynes was also survived by a special
friend and caregiver Nancy Kimbrough of Fayetteville.
She was preceded in death by brothers Ellis T. Wade and Walter H. Wade and sister Ruth W. Smith.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials to the Howell Cumberland Presbyterian Church or the American Heart Association.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening 5-8 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.
