Roy Jones was called home to be with the Lord on April 9, 2024, at the age of 81. A lifelong resident of Fayetteville, TN, Roy is survived by his wife Judy, daughter Kim Posey and her husband Scott, son Todd Jones and his wife Mia, as well as grandson Matthew Posey and his wife Morgan, and grandson Nathan Posey.  Roy is also survived by brothers Ray Jones and his wife Donna and Ronnie (Decon) Jones and his wife Jan and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Vessie Jones and brothers Dennis and Kenneth Jones.

A 1960 graduate of Central High School, Roy began his career in the lumber and hardware industry at Williams Lumber and Hardware, eventually becoming partner at Fayetteville Lumber where he retired after 52 years in the industry. He was known for his technical knowledge of the industry, dedication to his customers, and service to his community.  Roy served on many boards and committees throughout the years.

After his marriage to Judy in 1964, Roy also served two years in the United States Army during which time he and Judy got to experience living in Germany.  He and Judy have enjoyed several vacations with her sister, Nancy Thompson, throughout the years.

Roy was a strong and devout Christian man who was a longtime member of Prospect Baptist Church where he served in various roles and responsibilities. He was ordained as a deacon in 1970, a role in which he served for over 50 years. His loyalty and servitude to God and his family will forever be remembered; Roy Jones will be sorely missed by all.
