Graveside funeral service for Mildred Peters Hummel, age 85, of Fayetteville, TN will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Higgins Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.
Mildred was born on June 23, 1938, in Jonesborough, TN, to the late William Peters and Thelma Taylor Peters. She enjoyed working with her roses, canning, and collecting dolls. Mrs. Hummel passed away on April 17, 2024, at Elk River Health and Nursing Center of Fayetteville.
Survivors include her children, Belinda (Marcus) Schrimsher, Jeff (Angela) Hummel, James (Lara) Hummel, and Debra (Thomas) Cooper; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Violet Thompson, William (Sharon) Peters, and Jackie (Joe) Rainwater; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Richard Hummel; and siblings, Jack Peters, Kenneth Peters, Gladys Rowe, Loretta Rodifer, Sara Woodfin, and LeRoy Peters.
