ATHENS– On Tuesday, March 26 Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson issued a release asking the public for help in identifying a robbery suspect:

“Yesterday afternoon, Monday, March 25 shortly after 5:30 the Dollar General Store on US 72 next to US 31 was robbed.

The clerk told officers she was approached by a white male wearing a red hat, black jacket, tan pants and sunglasses. He told the clerk he had a gun and to give him all the money.

I have attached a picture of the suspect. There were no injuries in this case. We’re asking anyone with information to call Investigator Johnathan Caldwell at 256-233-8700.”
