Edith Weaver Haney, local artist, passed on April 16, 2016.
Survived by her sister, Lane Byrd; husband, Lynn of 53 years; son, Jody and wife, Carolyn of Atlanta; daughter, Kate and husband, Richard Rickart; and grandson, Henry McFarland of Decatur.
Edith received her Bachelor of Arts from UAH where she continued her post graduate studies in the art department for a number of years. Those who met her will never forget her. Her friends considered her one of a kind and there will never be another. She had a vast knowledge on many different topics.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2016, 11 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Decatur. The family will hold visitation at their home immediately following the service. A private burial will be held in Selma at a later date.
