ATHENS-Arrests made by the Athens Police Department on Tuesday, June 23.

Jonathan Marell Dean was arrested last night on a Grand Jury warrant for Possession of Forged Instruments 2nd degree. Dean cashed a forged check at Hometown Grocery on South Jefferson Street on July 2, 2013 for $738.68. Dean was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail.

Sammie Donald Logue Jr. was arrested yesterday for trafficking in illegal drugs and possession of a prescription drugs. Logue was arrested after he was stopped for a traffic violation on I-65. After the traffic stop officers located 2 Benztropine tablets and a small amount of Methamphetamine. While searching the vehicle officers located 2 ounces of Crystal Methamphetamine. Logue was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail. The investigation into this case is continuing. The street value of the Crystal Methamphetamine is estimated at $5000.00

Terrilyn Amanda Mangruen was arrested late yesterday afternoon on a 3 Grand Jury Warrants one for identity theft and 2 for theft of property 2nd degree. On March 24, 2014 an investigator with Redstone Federal Credit Union reported they had 3 checks cashed at their credit union on a closed account totaling $654.32. Investigator Jonathan Caldwell investigated the case and was able to locate Mangruen and develop her as a suspect in this case. Mangruen opened an account in another person’s name at Redstone prior to cashing the checks. Mangruen then deposited checks from another bank and on a closed account into the Redstone account and then withdrew most of the money. Mangruen was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail.
