Jan D. Patterson, 76, of Huntsville, passed away Tuesday. Mrs. Patterson was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Huntsville. She was wife for 54 years of William C. Patterson, retired NASA engineer and mother to daughter, Laura Leigh Patterson Jett and son, William Patrick Patterson. Jan did extensive volunteer work at her church and did home health care for years. She attended Caraway Methodist Nursing School and Birmingham Southern. Jan will be missed by her family and friends of which she was the inspiration in our lives. We love you, thank you for all the times you have helped us with your kindness, understanding and love. We miss you dearly and you will always be in our hearts. Your family: Forever with us in spirit.
Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her father, H.K. Downey; mother, Clyde S. Hodges; sister, Gwen Lockmiller; and niece, Belinda Eick.
Other survivors include sisters, Dianne D. Eick of Anderson, SC; Sharyn K. Worley of Watertown, TN, and Genevieve Anne Brannon-Wayne of Moss Point, MS; grandchildren, Lauren, Anna, Timothy Jr., Penelope Jett, all of Silverdale, WA; and Hannah Patterson and Sophie Patterson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Rick Owen officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
