Ms. Zelma Berryhill, age 81, of Hamilton, Alabama, formally of Guin, Alabama, passed away Saturday, May 17th, 2014 at the Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper, Alabama.
Funeral service and internment, 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 19th, 2014, in a graveside service at the Guin City Cemetery in Guin, Marion County, Alabama.
Ms. Berryhill was born March 24th, 1933 near Hamilton in Marion County, Alabama to Cliff and Alice Ellison Cox. She was of the Missionary Baptist faith and had lived in the Guin and Hamilton area most all her life. She loved working at Berryhill Grocery, the family store with her husband Hoyette Berryhill. It gave her many opportunities to serve her community and to meet new people. Zelma also had worked for the Health Tex Company in Guin, AL for 18 years as a supervisor.
She is survived by 1 son, Brian Berryhill of Hamilton, AL.; 1 sister, Ethylene Evans of Montgomery, AL.; 1 grandson; 2 great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cliff and Alice Ellison Cox; her husband, Hoyette Berryhill; 2 sisters; and 5 brothers.
